Property Assessments
2011 Final Assessments are available through the Dutchess County Government web site, or contact my office by phone or e-mail. For detailed information on how to contest your assessment, go to the NY State Office of Real Property Tax web site.
Grievances & Exemptions
All exemptions must be submitted to this office by March 1.
Grievance Day is Tuesday, May 24 Grievance hours to hear grievances will be 9:30am – 12:00pm, 1:00pm – 5:00pm, & 6:30pm – 9:00pm. Grievances will be heard on a first-come, first-served basis. All Grievance forms (RP-524) must be submitted to the Board of Assessment Review no later than 9:00 pm on that day in order for the grievance to be considered. Appearing in front of the Board of Assessment Review is not required for your grievance to be acted upon.
Grievance Day is the fourth Tuesday in May. Grievance forms may be submitted to the assessor between the filing of the tentative roll (May 1) and Grievance Day. All grievance forms (RP-524) must be received by the Board of Assessment Review (B.A.R.) by the end of the last hearing session. Please contact the assessor if you have any questions on filling out the RP-524 form.
